Need to paste code from Microsoft Word into your email message? We just released a new feature that allows you to do just that – without all the hidden code that comes along with it!

Simply select your content from Word, choose COPY from the EDIT menu (or click Ctrl-C), navigate to your ChurchPost window, select the Word Clipboard button from the button menu and PASTE (Ctrl-V) your content into this window. Voila!

We’re constantly improving our interface based on feedback we get every day from our users.

This week, we launched a new feature that will gradually be rolled out across our site called Quick Tips:

Quick tips appear next to areas/features of our service we regularly get questions about. Simply click or hover over the orange question marks and you’ll see a small “pop up” window that instantly appears with answers to your common questions!

Look for these Quick Tips (orange question marks) to be rolled out to all areas of our service over the next few weeks!

Customize your Get Connected Box

November 26th, 2007 | Posted by John Goodell in ChurchPost Features - (Comments Off)

We’re always listening!

One of the most popular requests we’ve received from churches of all sizes has been to customize how your Get Connected Box looks.

Today we launched the ability to upload a customized header image AND custom text relevant to your church groups.

If you would like to customize your Get Connected Box, please contact us any time and we’ll help get you started!

http://support.churchpost.com

Although launching the Get Connected Box on your website is hands down the best way to build your email groups, as a ChurchPost user you also have the ability to login to your account and add subscribers manually.

One of the ways to do this is by single submission. Simply click on the SUBSCRIBERS tab and then the ADD A SUBSCRIBER button.

Choose a group from the pull down menu and then start typing the name or the email address of the individual you wish to add:

As you start typing, we’ll instantly search your ChurchPost database to see if we can find a match. This makes adding a subscriber to multiple groups quicker and ensures you are entering the information correctly!

Because not everyone uses their first/last name as their email address, we’ll search everything to be sure you find the right person. In the example above, I know the subscriber’s last name is “smith” but I’m not sure of their email address.

Of course, if you are adding a subscriber who is not already in the database, no results will be displayed.

To enter the information of a subscriber already in the database, simply scroll down to highlight that subscriber and click the TAB button. This will instantly populate all of the fields on the page!

We hope this new feature makes adding subscribers manually easier than ever!

We’ve updated the default sorting functionality when you view subscribers in a group.

Now, when you click the SUBSCRIBERS tab (or click to view the subscribers in a group from the GROUPS tab), your subscribers are listed alphabetically by email address:

If you want to sort by another field, simply click the header (FIRST or LAST).

Let’s face it – no matter how “clean” your email groups are, bounced messages are a fact of life.

ChurchPost handles your bounced messages automatically.

For every message you send, you’ll notice 2 columns on the Email Center page – one for OK (messages that were successfully delivered) and one for BOUNCED. If a number appears in the bounced column, you can click on it to display a detailed listing of which email addresses bounced:

The Bounced Message Tracker that appears once you click the bounced link lists in detail which addresses were invalid. It also allows you to EDIT or DELETE this record in your database. Of course, once you edit an individual’s email address (or name) here, it is automatically updated across your database!

You can also PRINT and EXPORT lists instantly.

Lastly, to help you manage your email groups, ChurchPost automatically removes email addresses that bounce three (3) times. If you ever need to track which email addresses were automatically removed by ChurchPost, simply click on the REPORTING tab, then navigate to the GROUP ANALYSIS section, choose the group you wish to track and click the GO button next to the first “Show Me” report: Show me Auto/Bounce removals for [All Time]:

Get Connected Group Descriptions on Hover

July 19th, 2007 | Posted by John Goodell in ChurchPost Features - (Comments Off)

One of the most requested ChurchPost features in recent weeks has been a way to briefly describe what each group is so users visiting a church’s website via the Get Connected Box can better understand what they are signing up for BEFORE they sign up :)

Ta da!

Now, you can create a brief description of any group that appears automatically when a user hovers over that group name in your Get Connected Box:

When a user visits your Get Connected Box, they will see this description as they hover over the group name while deciding whether or not to sign up:

Thanks to all of the folks who asked for this feature!!

Get Connected Groups Now in Alphabetical Order

June 19th, 2007 | Posted by John Goodell in ChurchPost Features - (Comments Off)

If you haven’t figured it out already, we LOVE feedback.

The prototype for the original ChurchPost (over 3 years ago now) was shown to over 400 pastors, youth directors, ministers of music, lay leaders, group leaders and other church volunteers before we released version 2 this past March.

Today, some of our churches have well over 90 groups and are finding new ways to use ChurchPost every day!

To that end, we have updated how groups are displayed in your Get Connected sign up box. Before today, they were listed in the order created.

Now, they are listed alphabetically (side-to-side in two columns) so folks can find what they are looking for more quickly.

More Group Power

May 30th, 2007 | Posted by John Goodell in ChurchPost Features - (0 Comments)

We’ve always looking for ways to get the most information with the fewest clicks.

Because ChurchPost is driven by collections of subscribers with similar interests we call GROUPS, getting key information about your groups is critical.

ChurchPost 2.0 eliminates the need to continually click on links and “drill down” into sub-menu after sub-menu.

After numerous requests by pastors and other ministry leaders, we’ve added a quick way to see the fundamentals of any group in your account.

In the GROUPS section, simply hover over any group name:

group_hover.gif

You’ll see a quick overview of the essentials:

  • who owns the group
  • when the group was last emailed
  • who sent the last email to that group
  • whether the group is posted on the website (public or private)

You can also quickly view a list of subscribers in that group and see every message you sent to that group.

Lastly, from this quick view, you can click the button to send mail to this group, and you will automatically be taken to the COMPOSE MESSAGE page with that group added to the recipient list.

As always, we LOVE hearing your feedback and feature requests! Visit us online any time at:
